Over four days, close to 1,700 athletes from across the nation came together for the Special Olympics Canada Summer Games in Medicine Hat, Alta.
From August 11-15, Team Saskatchewan took part in athletics, basketball, bocce, rhythmic gymnastics, powerlifting, soccer, golf, 10-pin bowling, swimming and softball.
Overall, Team Saskatchewan finished fifth in standings and brought home 64 medals, including 22 gold. Multiple athletes achieved greatness on the national stage, with notable finishes taking place in rhythmic gymnastics, powerlifting, swimming and golf.
