Celebrating Pride Month

Colorful illustrations of various sport icons are arranged around the text "Pride Month" and the "Sask Sport" logo in the center.

For 26 years, Canada has joined numerous other countries in the celebration of the 2SLGBTQI+ community and their history. As designated, June marks Pride Month and features various forms of celebratory events to honour the history associated with the month.

Throughout June, Sask Sport will share stories that celebrate Pride though the lens of sport. We will explore how the power of sport can be used to create an inclusive and safe space for participants.

We encourage individuals to take the time to be part of the change to making sport more safe, inclusive and inviting.

Sask Sport’s Women in Sport program is designed to increase the number of women involved in sport, coaching and leadership roles at the community and high-performance levels. The playbook is split into five sections, each highlighting a specific area of sport and offering ideas, tools and resources such as the use of inclusive language and inclusion overall for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
