Voluntary Self-Identification

Self-identification refers to the voluntary, confidential, self-described declaration of identity.

The inclusion of various categories within the self-identification area will aid in the understanding of where diverse participation is successful within the amateur sport system, and identify gaps that can provide a target for future initiatives to ensure greater accessibility and participation.

A member’s heritage, self-described gender, and individuals with a disability are key categories that can be captured to monitor sport participation among these growing demographics in our province.
